Well, make that a little man in a uniform.

  Weston was so excited to play t-ball this year.  He woke Keaton up on Saturday morning by saying, "Today is the BIG game!"

Keaton wanted to sleep in his uniform the night before...all except for his cleats.

Last week, my sister Shauna, sent me an apron divine.  As I started preparations for jam making on this morning I knew that the pink and red floral apron was the one I must be wearing while making the sweet spread.  It was a perfect match.  Thanks, sis!

I have a friend that I instantly bonded with the first time I met. I have a friend that took me under his wing, and showed me the ropes. I have a friend that helps me be a better person. I have a friend that I don't have to call every week to keep up with. I have a friend that I look up to, even though he is younger than me. I have a friend that even though we may not see each other for two years, it's like we've never been apart.

My friend is Wayne.

Last week Wayne was diagnosed with cancer. I was away on business, but happend to be in the city where he lives. I went to visit him in the hospital. It was just like old times... except my heart was breaking.

Before I left that day, I asked Wayne if we could pray together. As I prayed I asked Heavenly Father to bless his doctors, that they would guided.

As I walked out of the ICU, on the wall hung this picture.



As I looked at this picture I realized that I was looking at my prayer.

i feel a bit of anxiety when i am amid clutter.  i like things picked up.  neat spaces.  clear surfaces.  it brings me joy.  i am at peace when the dishwasher is running in the evening, counters are wiped down, floors are swept and toys are picked up. 

but sometimes, i like a few things out of place.  for example, my master bath tub is filled with toy pirates and a 6 inch plastic batman.  i smile every time i see them huddled around the drain.

i found a storm trooper in my garage freezer and i am happy to see him every time i open the door.

 

today, i just giggled when i saw a ship being built in my entryway.

the ship/fort/base will not see tomorrow, but for today i will let them build away.

Recent Acquisitions

medicinally speaking, we are rich!

the boys in the house have been hit hard these past couple of weeks and our arsenal of medicine has multiplied!

i find him fast asleep clutching a fly swatter.

Last Words

"You are a TOTALLY mean Mom!"  Weston just yelled out from his bed a few minutes ago.  (Scriptures, family prayer, and bedtime bring out anger in this child.)
