picture day
"Weston what do you want to wear for picture day tomorrow?"
"Oh, I already know what I'm gonna wear", he answers confidently.
I must know more, so I prod,"What do you want to wear?"
"You'll have to wait and see in the morning", he teases.
"No, I think you better tell me."
He proudly answers, "I'm gonna wear a suit. I want to look niiiccceee!" He drags out the last word.
I bite my lip to keep from laughing out loud. I love the idea.
To my dismay, in the end, he decided the the collar bugged him too much, so he just wore an old Star Wars t-shirt.
Good thing he can't take off that face.

when there is a will...
(Conversation from last Sunday)
Weston-"We are not allowed to watch Spongebob on TV on Sundays."
Me-"Exactly right...No Spongebob on Sundays!"
Weston, closing his eyes-"Well, I am watching it in my head." (pause, eyes still closed, then a laugh at the scene in his head.)

oatmeal
Sometimes, being a Mom means that you eat the breakfast that your sweet 7-year-old brings to you in bed.
Even if it is oatmeal made in the micro with not quite enough water and not a speck of sugar to be found on even the smallest chunk of oat.
Even when that same sweet 7-year-old tells you that it is not so good at first but it tastes pretty good after you swallow it.
It also means washing the oats down with 2 packages of capri suns, cut opened and dumped into a cup.
Because it was made by 7-year-old boy hands, it was most delicious.
